>Sketch Every Day: 1.7.11

I love colorful, ornate and exotic patterns.  I am inspired by textiles, carvings and metalwork from India, Morocco, Spain, Mexico, Indonesia.  I started with a simple seven petal flower design and worked my way out from the center and let the drawing “happen”….

…Mason finished his heritage project for school.  Our diverse family heritage includes Chinese, Taiwanese, Scottish, Native American Indian, African-American, English, German, French….probably quite a few more that I have forgotten. For this project, Mason chose to focus on our Chinese ancestry.  (We used the same markers for our sketches).
